Rig — cut parts & build bones

The Guided setup turns one piece of symbol art into a rigged, animated Spine skeleton by asking a few questions about how it should move — and showing you every cut before it commits.

Steps

  1. Upload the symbol's artwork, or use Replace image to swap in a different file on a symbol that already has one.
  2. Look over the parts the studio detected under the preview — eyes, eyebrows, mouth, hands, hair and so on.
  3. Start the Guided setup and answer the short questions: what happens while the symbol idles, when it lands, on a win, and any extra animations you want.
  4. Work through Cut review: every outline your answers need is shown one at a time, over the art it came from.
  5. Fix any outline that needs it — click a piece with Magic Snippet to re-outline it, paint it with the Brush, drag the outline's dots, or press Add region and outline a second area for a piece that continues under something else.
  6. Accept the outlines. The rig is built, the clips are animated, and the result starts playing in Preview.

Tips

  • Only the parts your answers actually need get cut, so a focused wish list means a faster, cleaner rig — and a smaller bill (about 100 credits for a symbol from an image).
  • Fixing an outline here takes seconds; fixing it after the rig is built means a re-cut. If one still comes out wrong, Cuts above the canvas re-cuts it later and History holds the version from before.
  • Bending pieces (arms, legs, tails, hair) get their joints from their own outline, not from a guess: the attaching end sits at the seam with the body, the elbow at the bend. See and adjust them in Arrange with the Joints toggle.
